Application Procedure

Application Period:

The application period for the second intake will be open from the 15th of September 2025 to the 15th of January 2026.

How to Apply

Students interested in applying for the EMABG must submit the documents listed below via the EMABG application database. Only documents submitted via the application database and only complete applications will be considered.

Documents must be submitted in .pdf format.

The European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), in the context of managing the Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters, collects and processes the personal data of some of the candidates. In particular, certain data of the scholarship holders and non-scholarship holders is shared with the Agency and treated according to this privacy statement.

Diploma/Certificate of degree

BSc or BSc merged with MSc (if applicable) certificate providing the obtained degree – must be issued by the university where the degree was obtained, and dated, signed and stamped, otherwise it will not be considered valid. Please add an English translation (in one single document) if your documents are not in English.

Students from China (https://www.aps.org.cn/zh/) , Mongolia (https://ulan-bator.diplo.de/mn-de/themen/kultur/-/2076494) and Vietnam (https://vietnam.diplo.de/) need to add the APS certificate to confirm the originality of their documents. Please also send this certificate to emabg(at)boku.ac.at before the application deadline.

Transcript of records

BSc or BSc and MSc (if applicable) transcript of records. Must be issued by the university, stating in detail all courses taken and grades obtained, as well as a grading scale and average grade. Don’t forget to check the backside. This document must be dated, signed and stamped, otherwise it will not be considered valid. Please note that you must upload the transcript of records regarding all the years of your course. Please add an English translation if your documents are not in English. Certificate of current residence

The certificate of residence must be in English language or translated to English and can be any of the following:

  • a residence certificate issued in accordance with your municipality’s registration rules
  • your national ID, which must be dated and state your current address or merged with a document (e.g. electricity bill) that lists your name and address
  • a certificate from your place of work, study or training issued by the employer or institution in question. This certificate has to be dated and signed.

The document must have been issued within 12 months before the submission deadline of applying for an EMJM student scholarship.

Curriculum Vitae

preferably in Europass format;

with special emphasis on the duration of employment/additional training, including educational career, working experience, publications, title of research projects/theses. If applicable, any other information of relevance is very much welcome.

Photo

Your face should be clearly visible on the photo.

Language certificate

Copy of an official language certificate attesting language skills in English, as described in section on admission requirements.

Letter of preferred study tracks

Please indicate your preferred 3 study tracks in your letter e.g. NMBU-SLU, NMBU-WUR, NMBU-APT, NMBU-UGOE or NMBU-BOKU.

Please note that this is not a letter of motivation, just describe why you would like to study in those study tracks.

2 Letters of recommendation

from two different persons (previous professors or employers). The letters must mention your name.

Video of the motivation

As a mandatory part of the application, you are required to create a 1- to 2-minute video explaining why you would like to be part of this programme. The video should be in MP4 format, and the title should include your full name (first name and surname). Please upload the video here.
